Celebrating Arijit Singh’s birthday with five of his upbeat songs

When this singer is mentioned one thinks of soft melodious songs like ‘sawan aaya hai’ from ‘Creature 3D’ (2014) or ‘tum hi ho’ from ‘Aashiqui 2’ (2013). Basically those songs that will touch the heart and leave an impact on the listener in some way or the other.

However with time not only has this artist experimented singing different styles of songs but they have also become very much in demand. We are talking about the one and only Arijit Singh, who with his voice has captured the hearts of many around the globe.

Arijit Singh celebrates his birthday on the 25th April and to mark this occasion, BizAsiaLive.com will look back at five of his songs that would be perfect to get up and dance to.

‘Raabta’

‘Main Tera Boyfriend’ from ‘Raabta’ (2017)
A fun number where the guy wants the girl he likes to become his girlfriend but the girl isn’t having any of it. Spoiler alert he does convince her in the end so no tears.

The song was picturised on Kriti Sanon and the late Sushant Singh Rajput who danced extremely well to this fast paced number. Visually they matched the pace of the song step by step, showing energy in their performances. Accompanying Singh in this song are artists Neha Kakkar and Meet Bros who no doubt did a great job in terms of matching Singh’s vocals.

When this song first released it became ever so popular. It also made people aware that Singh can actually sing upbeat songs like this one. Although the film didn’t quite manage to win the audiences over this song has continued to remain popular thanks to Rajput and Singh’s duo.

‘Ghungroo’ from ‘War’ (2019)
When the song begins one instantly imagines white sandy beaches, the scorching hot sun and the sparkling sea. Then when the beat kicks in one can’t help but start moving along with the beat of the song. All credit goes to Vishal and Shekhar for creating this beautiful melody for Singh.

Singing alongside Singh was Shilpa Rao who no doubt was the perfect choice to duet with Singh. Both their vocals not only sounded great musically but their voices suited the actors really well too.

In the film Hrithik Roshan and Vaani Kapoor were seen dancing away, with Kapoor doing acrobatic moves using a swing pole and cyr wheel which was visually stunning to watch.

Kumaar is another person who deserves praise for writing such refreshing lyrics for Singh. The combination of all these things made the song a huge hit. Even now after nearly four years the popularity of this song doesn’t seem to be ceasing.

‘Kalank’

‘First Class’ from ‘Kalank’ (2019)
The only way to describe this song is as infectious, meaning once one hears this song they might want to hit the repeat button. The music composed by Pritam consisted of classical and western beats mixed together, this gave it that grandeur sound making the song stand out.

What can be said about the lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya other than ‘first class’. A lot of care was taken when creating the lyrics for this song as they reflected around one of the characters in the film played by Varun Dhawan. The lyrics told his story, revealing his persona to the audience and how others see him as a person.

It’s hard to imagine this song with out Singh. It’s as though this song was made especially for him. The way he sung it so passionately would make anyone a fan of Singh. Not forgetting Neeti Mohan who sang with Singh adding to the magic of this song.

‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ from ‘Pathaan’ (2023)
The start of the year arrived with a bang and one of the individuals to blame was Singh but no one’s complaining. Shahrukh Khan returned for his fans after some time with Deepika Padukone as his leading lady. Of course a party number is required and what better song than this one that has Spanish sounds with a desi twist added to it.

The power in Singh’s vocals blew everyone away. His vocals worked really well with the beats of Vishal and Shekhar. Sukriti Kakar sang for Padukone giving it her all with her energetic vocals.

This is definitely a song that will remain popular in years to come because of its electrifying vibes. Months have passed since this song was first released but more and more people keep returning to this one as everything about it is addictive.

‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’
‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’

‘Pyaar Hota Kayi Baar Hai’ from ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ (2023)
A peppy love number with Ranbir Kapoor adding his mischievous charm to the equation. This latest song by Singh is being loved by all be it musically or visually, it is perfection in every way. Bosco Caesar’s creative dance steps go flawlessly with the sound of Pritam’s musical creation. The song begins with the sound of horns, moving into a techno beat giving the song a party feeling.

Singh cleverly speeds up his vocals matching the tempo of the music, adding emphasis to certain parts in the song. Time and time again Singh proves the skills he has when it comes to singing different styles of songs. This time Singh is joined by Charan who can be heard rapping in the song.

So these were some of the dance numbers that have been loved by listeners far and wide. Fans of Singh hope to hear more dance numbers in the future as he surely has the talent for it.

The team at BizAsiaLive.com wishes Arijit Singh a very happy birthday.
