BBC presenter Naga Munchetty under formal investigation over bullying claims

The BBC has launched a formal investigation into BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty following complaints about her conduct.

Munchetty, who has fronted the flagship morning programme for more than 15 years and also hosts a show on Radio 5 Live, was initially placed under review earlier this year after concerns were raised by colleagues. Allegations are said to cover incidents over a three-year period, including claims of difficult behaviour and an inappropriate off-air remark during her radio programme.

The matter has now been escalated into a full investigation after further complaints were lodged. The development comes at a sensitive time for the broadcaster, with workplace culture at BBC Breakfast already under scrutiny.

Munchetty, one of the corporation’s highest-paid presenters, faces an uncertain future as the inquiry proceeds. The BBC has yet to issue an official statement.
