Arjun Kapoor recommended Athiya Shetty for ‘Mubarakan’?

Following her debut with ‘Hero’ (2015), there was much talk of Athiya Shetty not receiving many offers and not being accepted by the film industry. She has now signed her next film, Anees Bazmee’s ‘Mubarakan’, in which she will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor.

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, Shetty bagged ‘Mubarakan’ on Kapoor’s recommendation.

Prior to Shetty being signed on for the film, it was speculated that Kapoor’s alleged ex-girlfriend Sonakshi Sinha was being considered for the same role.  It can be noted that there have also been rumours linking Kapoor and Shetty romantically, though both deny their being any truth to this.

‘Mubarakan’ also stars Anil Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz.
