‘Anupamaa’ & ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ triumph at Indian Telly Awards 2025
Director’s Kut Productions, helmed by producer Rajan Shahi, had a notable presence at the Indian Telly Awards 2025, with its flagship shows ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Anupamaa’ receiving several honours across categories.
‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, one of Indian television’s longest-running shows, was recognised for its continued popularity and production quality. The show won in key categories including ‘Best Daily Serial’ and ‘Best Continuing TV Programme’. It was also acknowledged for its technical aspects, receiving awards for ‘Best Background Music’, ‘Best Costumes’, ‘Best Choreographer’, ‘Best Editor’, and ‘Best Story Writer’.
The cast was celebrated for their performances, with Garvita Sadhwani winning ‘Best Actress in a Negative Role’ and ‘Fan Favourite – Supporting Actress’. The show also received ‘Best Ensemble Cast’, while lead actors Rohit Purohit and Samridhii Shukla were awarded Best Onscreen Couple. Rohit Purohit additionally won Fan Favourite – Actor.
‘Anupamaa’, co-produced by Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi, also continued its successful run, winning ‘Best Drama Series’ and ‘Best Continuing TV Programme’. Lead actress Rupali Ganguly received accolades for ‘Best Television Personality of the Year’ and ‘Fan Favourite – Actress’. Rajan and Deepa Shahi were jointly named ‘Best Producer (Fiction)’ for the show.

The awards reflected the ongoing appeal and viewer connection that both shows maintain, as well as the collaborative work of their creative and production teams.
Rajan Shahi was accompanied by his daughter Ishika Shahi, who joined him on stage during some of the award wins — a proud generational moment for the family. “Winning for both Yeh Rishta and ‘Anupamaa’ feels incredibly special. I’m grateful to every technician, actor, writer, and the loyal viewers. And having Ishika by my side tonight made it even more memorable,” Rajan shared.
