Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra have been named as the new brand ambassadors for the Indian government’s ‘Incredible India’ campaign.
The news comes, days after Aamir Khan’s contract was discontinued, who had angered politicians over his views on intolerance in India. Last year, Khan sparked controversy after he expressed “alarm and despondency” over rising intolerance in India. He said that his wife Kiran Rao had even considered moving out of India as she feared safety of their children. Khan had been face of the brand for ten years.
It seems Bachchan and Chopra will be signed up for three years for the role and will do it voluntarily.
The official announcement from Incredible India is expected after India’s Republic Day.
