Akshay Kumar thinks ‘Airlift’ will make Indians feel proud

Akshay Kumar finds his upcoming film, ‘Airlift’, special and admits that everybody will feel proud of being an Indian after watching the film.

‘Airlift’ is based on biggest human evacuation in the history of mankind. It portrays the evacuation of Indians from invaded Kuwait in 1990.��Kumar informs that it was India that did the biggest air evacuation and this is mentioned in Guinness Book of World Records. The actor told Mumbai Mirror, “If you browse through Guinness Book of World Records, the biggest air evacuation was done by our beloved country, India. And this is why I selected to do this subject as I wanted to bring it in front of everybody.”

Kumar feels that stupendous chapter of evacuation must be included in school textbooks. He said, “I’ve always made a request that this big chapter should be there in our textbooks; It’s a very important chapter. We all know what Shah Jahan and Akbar did, but at least write what we (Indians) have done.”

In the film, Kumar is narrating a character of Kuwait based Indian businessman Ranjit Katyal, who helped 1,70,000 Indians to get airlifted from Kuwait.

‘Airlift’ also stars Nimrat Kaur and is all set to release on 22nd January 2016.
