Aaj Tak & Headlines Today to timeshare in UK

India’s most watched Hindi news channel, Aaj Tak has changed in the UK with the addition of its sister channel, Headlines Today joining the schedule.

Up until now, the Hindi news channel was solely beamed from India to UK but will now timeshare half of its output with Headlines Today – the English news channel from the TV Today Network.

With immediate effect, Aaj Tak will broadcast live between 06:00 – 17:30, with Headlines Today taking over between 17:30 – 06:00. Most of the output will be as it is from both channels in India with any major stories breaking into normal programming when required.

The Headlines Today schedule will consist of popular current affair programming like ‘CentreStage’, ‘India Reports’, ‘News Night’, ‘NightLine’, ‘EQ’ and ‘SQ’.

The main reason behind the change is likely to attract a larger audience in the UK, which will reflect the BARB ratings. Aaj Tak has recently joined BARB, with official data being reported next week.

Aaj Tak / Headlines Today is available free-to-air on Sky Digital channel 818.
