UK TV Reach: Star Plus & Star Gold dominate

Star Plus and Star Gold dominated latest weekly reach data in UK ratings supplied by BARB for week ending Sunday 8th October.

Star Plus grew by 124,000 viewers, with its best weekly reach since the Sky changes took place, which saw ZEE TV and Sony TV channels join the Sky Original Pack. Star Plus delivered a reach of 747,000 viewers, followed by (last week 623,000 viewers), followed by Colors with 381,000 viewers, &TV with 338,000 viewers, Sony Entertainment Television with 334,000 viewers and Hum TV with 307,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Star Bharat with 284,000 viewers, Zing with 229,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 224,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 214,000 viewers, Rishtey with 204,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 183,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 178,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 168,000 viewers, Prime TV with 165,000 viewers, Geo TV with 147,000 viewers, Venus TV with 137,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 113,000 viewers, PTV Global with 83,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 63,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 50,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi with 40,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe with 36,000 viewers and A Plus Europe with 33,000 viewers.

Movie genre
Star Gold was the No.1 Bollywood movie channel in the UK with a reach of 427,000 viewers – up from 387,000 viewers last week, followed by Sony MAX with 384,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 273,000 viewers. ZEE Cinema and B4U Movies both ranked bottom with 206,000 viewers each.

Music genre
B4U Music topped the Asian music genre with 211,000 viewers, followed by Brit Asia TV with 123,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 118,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 51,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News returned to the top spot with 215,000 viewers, followed by Aaj Tak with 162,000 viewers, New Vision TV with 161,000 viewers, ABP News with 151,000 viewers and NDTV 24×7 with 133,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of Samaa TV with 132,000 viewers, followed by Dunya News with 85,000 viewers and UK 44 with 47,000 viewers. Times Now registered 47,000 viewers and News18 with 19,000 viewers.
