Zoom TV & Times Now launch in the States

Bollywood entertainment channel, Zoom TV and popular English news channel, Times Now – both from the Times Television Network – have launched in the USA.

The network roped in Bollywood stars Anil Kapoor and Vidya Balan for the launch event earlier this month held at the Marriott Marquise, Times Square, New York. The event was attended by the Consul Generals of India and Bangladesh, the senator from New York, the city commissioner of New York, the speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly and many corporates, media and the press.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Vineet Jain, Chairman Times Television Network said, “Our endeavor, as Times Television Network, is to build our brands internationally and bring India closer to the world. The launch of our channels Times Now and Zoom on the biggest platform for the Indian Diaspora- the Dish Network, will allow South Asian community residing in the US to be informed on the latest Indian news and current affairs besides being entertained with all that�۪s happening in Bollywood”.

Adressing the press conference organized on the occasion, Mr. Sunil Lulla, Managing Director & CEO of Times Television Network highlighted the tremendous equity enjoyed by Times Now and Zoom in India, their leadership positions and the continued efforts of Times Television Network to reach out to audiences across the world. He was excited that now more Indians and India-focused audiences in the US would be able enjoy the unique content that these channels provide to their viewers.”

Times Now and Zoom will be available in the US on the leading DTH platform, Dish Network. They are available on Dish�۪s Hindi Mega Pack.

World Media Connect, headed by Mr. Dheeraj Kapuria is responsible for Advertising sales for the channel in USA. World Media Connect now has more than 10 channels in their arsenal.

Plans are also underway to launch Zoom TV in the UK market but the strategy is being kept under wraps. There is word that the channel may launch on Virgin Media first before launching on Sky Digital.
