ZEE TV’s new soaps climb up popularity chart


ZEE TV India has recently seen a surge in its popularity thanks to dependable shows such as ‘Saat Phere’ and ‘Kasamh Se’.

Beside these, new additions to the plethora of innovative programming on ZEE TV has seen ‘Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann’ and ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi..Betiyann’ deliver consistent numbers in the Top 100 of programmes on Indian television.

According to TV Ratings (TVR) supplied to BizAsia.co.uk between the 24th September to the 30th September, 18 of the 100 slots were taken up by ZEE TV. This time last year, ZEE TV struggled to make its place in the Top 100. Over the past seven months ZEE TV has overtaken rival Sony Entertainment Television Asia. The latter has only its old show ‘C.I.D’ to bank on. It has launched ‘Kajjal’ this week, which the channel is hoping will turn around its fortunes.

Going back to ZEE TV’s presence in the Top 100, ‘Saat Phere’ topped the chart followed by ‘Kasamh Se’, ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi…Betiyann’ and then ‘Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann’.

ZEE TV�۪s musical gameshow ��Sa Re Ga Ma Pa�۪ is also performing exceedingly well. The channel is hoping ��Ghar Ki Lakshmi��_Betiyann�۪ dislodges ��Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki�۪ from the top in the 10pm slot.

STAR Plus remains India’s first choice with 51 of the 100 slots taken up by the home of ‘Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. ‘Kausati Zindagi Kay’ and ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii’ followed in the popularity chart.

In the UK, ZEE TV will be introducing ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi…Betiyann’ from Monday 16th October at 21:00.
