ZEE TV UK scraps ‘ZEE & U’ after 16 years

ZEE TV UK’s longest running locally based viewer interaction show; ‘ZEE & U’ is being axed after 16 years on-air.

The show similar to BBC One’s ‘Points Of View’ was the only programme of its kind to invite viewers to send in comments and feedback about ZEE Network shows.

Prior to ‘ZEE & U’, the show was known as ‘TVA & U’, which ran on its predecessor TV Asia from 1992. The show changed its name after ZEE TV replaced TV Asia in 1995.

Over the years, the show has been presented by Sarita Sabharwal, Asif Ghazali, Nikki Walia and various others. However, it was Shaney Burney, who presented the show the longest. Shaney led the show for eleven years before leaving in 2006 to pursue programming management work at ZEE Network UK.

‘ZEE & U’ has been a fixed property on ZEE TV’s schedule for over 16 years. It started off as a daily show before being reduced to a weekly weekend programme.

The final episode will be aired on Sunday 31st July at 17:30 with current host Pixie Khangura. ‘ZEE & U’ will be replaced with ‘ZEE Multiplex’ temporarily.
