ZEE TV to go HD in USA “end of this quarter”

ZEE TV will become the first Asian TV channel to broadcast in high-definition in the USA at the end of this quarter.

Asia TV USA which is the parent company of ZEE TV has not confirmed the launch date for the enhanced version service but does expect to launch it in the coming weeks.

Asia TV CEO Suresh Bala said, “Once again the ZEE brand has taken on the role of a pioneer. It is a great honour for us to provide our loyal viewers their favorite programming in HD service and also to become the first channel in America to deliver high quality South Asian entertainment in HD.”

In the UK, Star Network announced last year that it was launching Star Plus and Star Gold in HD but since then the broadcaster has not issued any further details. With ZEE TV going HD in India and now America, will the UK follow suit? Watch this space for further details.
