ZEE TV axes five of its top soaps

In a bid to boost ratings and introduce its winter line up of shows, ZEE TV, the UK’s numero uno entertainment channel has axed five of its top daily soaps. As revealed earlier in the week by Biz Asia, Lipstick and Kittie Party are being sped up to catch up with episodes being screened in India (we are currently four weeks Lipstick and Kittie Party being shown on ZEE TV India).

Now we have confirmation that both Lipstick and Kittie Party are being scrapped by ZEE TV in both India and UK. The demise of the two soaps will take place sometime in August.

If that wasn’t enough, Piya Ka Ghar is also on the way out after over stretched storylines. Manshaa currently in the weekday 21:30 slot will be the first victim of the axe. Manshaa ends on ZEE TV UK on Wednesday 16th June at 21:30. In July, we will also see the end of Lavanya.

The short serial will end its 64 episode run in mid-July. Lavanya is screened weekdays at 21:00. ZEE TV UK in August and September will see a complete new schedule just in time for winter. More details soon.
