ZEE secure exclusive Hockey World Cup rights

ZEE Network has secured exclusive rights to screen the Hockey World Cup free-to-air on Zing.

The music and lifestyle channel will show all matches from the World Cup, which takes place in India from Sunday 28th February to Saturday 13th March.

Govind Shahi, Business Head of ZEE Network, Europe said, “As with any sporting World Cup, patriotic emotions always run high, and I am are sure that the Hockey World cup will be no exception. We want the games to be accessible to everyone that is why they will be aired free on Zing.”

The 12-nation tournament sees current World Champions Germany hoping to become the first side to win the trophy for a third consecutive time. But host nation India will certainly be looking to capitalise on the advantages of playing at home along with its considerable home supporters.

Zing will use live pictures from sister-station, Ten Sports India.
