ZEE was part of one of Europe۪s biggest ethnic festivals over the weekend, with a successful reception. Milan Festival, in The Hague, Netherlands is the biggest multi-cultural open-air festival of the people of Indian origin in mainland Europe with ZEE extending its support this summer to the 30th year special edition of the festival.

The festival resembled a vibrant party buzzing with colourful costumes, Bollywood dancing, live singing, celebrities, food, children۪s activities and families from all backgrounds coming together to celebrate this festival of Indian culture in all its glory. Milan Festival is known all over the Netherlands as a major annual multicultural mega-festival of The Hague. It is organised by the Stichting Interculturele Ontmoetingsmanifestatie (Foundation for Intercultural Interaction) Milan in the Zuiderpark.

Almost 80,000 visitors enjoyed the three-day long event over 4-6 July, which aims to highlight the culture and language of immigrants originating from India and Pakistan and Hindustani from Suriname and to encourage the participation and integration of immigrants in the Netherlands. The Netherlands is home to about 150,000 PIO (people of Indian origin) and is a top spot for the popularity of Indian culture – music, Bollywood, food and more.

ZEE TV۪s latest innovative show ZEE Companion۪ received rave reviews at the event with show host Natasha Asghar joining in on the celebrations, taking over the stage and meeting with the fans. The warmth of the visitors was very touching; I loved their energy and passion for the Indian culture. I can۪t wait to go back next year!۝ Natasha said.

Neeraj Dhingra, CEO, Europe, It۪s been a pleasure to partner with Milan Festival that celebrates with such zeal. In keeping with the mission statement Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam۪, which stands for The World is My Family۪, ZEE has always tried to connect with people from various parts of the world. This was a great opportunity to build cultural ties with the Netherlands and we value the bond of togetherness in Europe through this huge festival.۝
