ZEE Network acquires ‘Tanu Weds Manu’

ZEE Network has bought the satellite rights to this year’s surprise box office smash hit, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’.

The film, which was released at cinemas at the end of last month, has been able to hold its own without any major opponents at the box office, despite the ongoing Cricket World Cup. The film’s third week collections of Rs 51 million takes its total to Rs 312 million.

ZEE Network has paid in the excess of Rs 70 million to broadcast the movie worldwide on its channels. ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ stars R Madhavan and Kangna Ranaut.

ZEE Network is known for not splashing out big on movie titles has done so recently with films like ‘Aakrosh’, ‘Break Ke Baad’ and ‘Peepli Live’ under its belt.
