ZEE Network acquires four films from Eros

ZEE Network has acquired four blockbuster movie titles from Eros International to be shown exclusively on its channels over a five-year period.

Two of the films are this year’s biggest box office hits – ‘Love Aaj Kal’ starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone and ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.

The other two titles are family drama ‘Yuvraaj’ starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif and thriller ‘Aa Dekhen Zara’ starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bipasha Basu.

In a statement, ZEE Cinema Business Head, Mohan Gopinath, said, “These films are part of an outright deal that we have struck with Eros. We will have the telecast rights for five years. I can’t disclose the acquisition price.”

Pranab Kapadia, Eros President – Distribution, said, “With our strong slate of new films and catalogue, we operate a very flexible television licensing model to suit each channel’s needs and budgets. Our portfolio approach is one of our key strengths and allows us to provide tailor made television packages.”

BizAsia.co.uk previously reported that ZEE Network had acquired the rights of Ajay Devgan’s home production, ‘U Me Aur Hum’ also from Eros International on an exclusive telecast basis.

Recently, ZEE Network had struck deals to show a slew of movies from Reliance-Adlabs on a non-exclusive agreement.
