ZEE Media’s 14 news channels pull out of BARC India

ZEE Media has pulled out its 14 news channels from BARC India.

Business Standard reports that the company sent a letter to the audience measuring body on Friday to express its desire to leave the agency. The move will mean that the 14 news channels will no longer report official viewing data.

Previously, NDTV pulled out of BARC India in March citing the agency needed a larger sample of meters to improve its measuring service.

BARC India has tweaked its reporting methods for news channels by taking audience estimates on a four-week rolling average basis to arrive at viewership numbers for a specific week.
