ZEE Cinema switches to freeview in August

In a bid to grab eyeballs before rival SET Max’s launch on Sky Digital, ZEE Network has announced that its movies channel ZEE Cinema will be made available free for all to view.

ZEE Cinema has lined up a slew of blockbuster movies including Hum Aap Ke Hain Koun, Maine Pyar Kiya, Aitraaz, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahan and the Temptations 2004 concert to entice new viewers.

Sony Entertainment Television Asia will be launching its own movies and events channel SET Max at the end of this month to combat rivals ZEE Cinema and B4U Movies. SET Max holds the rights to some of Bollywood’s biggest ever hits including the whole of the Yashraj film camp. Films such as Veer Zaara, Hum Tum, Dhoom, Silsila, Kabhi Kabhi and Madhoshi will be airing on the channel later this year.

ZEE Cinema will be free on Sky Digital from 1st August – 15th August and on NTL: Home from 2nd August – 22nd August.
