Why Ajay Devgn said no to Hollywood

Ajay Devgn

The likes of Irrfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra and even Deepika Padukone have travelled across the pond to face the big screen of the West. So it’s no surprise that Hollywood has been paying attention to the other actors that rule the Indian film industry, However, many of these actor’s aren’t quite ready to take the leap for just any Hollywood project, including Ajay Devgn.

Catching up with the mediaHindustan Times, reported the actor stating, “I have got many offers, but nothing that I would like to do. In the future, if I get good work, I will take it up. I am always on the lookout for good work, so if I get offered anything worth my while, why not?”

Devgn is currently in the midst of his next production titled ‘Shivaay’. Being a film that requires a big budget, the actor-producer is finding ways in which they can manage the finances. Talking about the production, Devgn explained, “We can recover the amount we have spent. We are making it (the film) in a different way. The hard work which we put into the film and the way we have shot it, is unique. It۪s a drama, but planned on a large scale.”

“Instead of roping in people who would charge high prices to be in the film, we have used the money in making a better film. This is why the price of shooting the film has increased,” he went on to add.

There’s no doubt in saying that Devgn’s career has gone from strength to strength. However, Devgn did express that he still has some anxiety with every film, as he explained, “There is a little bit of nervousness while shooting, which pushes you to do better. You question yourself, with every shot, if you would be able to pull this off. During the release, I think you are anxious and not nervous. You want to know if people will like it.”

‘Shivaay’ will also be directed by Devgn and is set to hit the big screens on 28th October.
