Vivek Agnihotri’s realistic touch in ‘Junooniyat’
Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film starring Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam takes on the age-old conflict of some families not wanting to marry their daughters to army-men.
Not the kinds to tread the beaten path, director, Agnihotri�۪s upcoming ��Junooniyat�۪ though a romantic film delves into an issue unlike Bollywood has seen before. The film revolves around the love story of an army man, Samrat and how the girl�۪s, Gautam family refuses to marry their daughter to Pulkit as he is from army.
Talking about it, Agnihotri points out that ���It is actually quite common in India, that a lot of families do not want to marry their daughters to army-men fearing security issues, especially those who are posted in combat zones�.
The director says, ���We have explored various conflicts in love stories, yet never ever have we touched this unique conflict which is so strongly present amongst our families, society, but never ever discussed before. I believe it�۪s only when you bring out such hidden realities out in films that they become topics of discussion and help society give up old-age taboos and irrational norms�.
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, ��Junooniyat�۪ starring Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam has been produced by Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited.
��Junooniyat�۪ is set to release on 24th June 2016.
