There’s a trend in the industry these days with remakes of South Indian films. Latest reports say that Varun Dhawan could star in a Hindi remake of NT Rama Rao Jr starrer Telugu film ‘Nannaku Prematho’.
The film is likely to be produced by Jayantilal Gada. A source told Absolute India News, Jayantilal Gada wants Sukumar the original director of the film to direct Hindi version too. The film is an action family drama that grabbed lot of attention by the makers. Gada will be producing it with one of the young actors, as he surely has Varun Dhawan in mind to play NT Rama Rao Jr۪s role.
The makers got in touch with David Dhawan for Varun. They even showed this film to David Dhawan and others. There are several names in his mind but yet to decide on one. Sukumar, who has the right of the film, is in Mumbai to currently discuss the same project with Gada. If all goes well this will be Sukumar۪s first film in Bollywood, the source further added.
When asked about Dhawan stepping in for the role, Gada said, Varun is busy so we are yet to speak to him. We will contact Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor and figure it out. We are yet to buy the rights of the film, because I want the actor first. There۪s no point of buying rights before signing actors.
