Urdu1 to launch this Thursday in UK

Pakistan’s premium entertainment channel, Urdu1 is set to launch in the UK this Thursday (23rd March 2017), BizAsiaLive.com can exclusively reveal.

The channel, which has been testing off the Sky EPG for a number of days, is now set to be added to the Sky EPG line-up on Thursday. Incidentally, the channel launches on the occasion of Pakistan Day, which is being celebrated around the world.

As revealed first on BizAsiaLive.com earlier this year, Urdu1 is set to change the dynamics in the UK with its high-end content, competing directly with the likes of market leader, Hum TV, Geo TV and A Plus Europe.

With a flurry of new channels expected to launch ahead of Sky Asia Pack channels going into the Original pack this summer, Urdu1 seems to want to quickly get into the UK market before it becomes even more clogged up.
