The Walt Disney Company’s Bollywood entertainment channel, UMP Stars, which has been seeking a launch on Sky Digital for the past few months is now almost certain to launch in June.
UMP Stars, which is touted as the official channel of Bollywood was due to launch this month but had been delayed due to EPG legalities and clearance. It is now expected to be available on the Sky Digital EPG by the second week of June.
UMP Movies will concentrate on its films output, whereas UMP Stars۪ output will mainly consist of showbiz related magazine programmes. The channel is known for programmes hosted by celebrities including Live My Life۪, Up Close and Personal With_۪ and The Club۪.
The channel will be available free-to-air.
BizAsia understands that World Media Connect will once again look after the launch marketing of the channel, similar to what it did at the time of UMP Movies debut in December.
