UK TV Reach: Star Plus tumbles to 600k for first time

Star Plus recorded one of its lowest UK weekly reach figures in history, in latest data provided by BARB for week ending Sunday 23rd July 2017.

Whilst most Asian channels suffered a blow this week, Star Plus’ ratings were significant due to its historic low. The channel registered a weekly reach of 625,000 viewers (last week 733,000 viewers). This was followed by Rishtey with 533,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 421,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 396,000 viewers, Colors with 373,000 viewers, Hum TV with 357,000 viewers, Zing with 354,000 viewers, &TV with 335,000 viewers, Star Gold with 270,000 viewers, B4U Music with 220,000 viewers, Geo TV with 211,000 viewers and Life OK with 206,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Prime TV with 188,000 viewers, followed by PTC Punjabi with 162,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 122,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 121,000 viewers, PTV Global with 113,000 viewers, Venus TV with 86,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe with 63,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 58,000 viewers, MTV Beats with 56,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 43,000 viewers, A Plus Europe with 31,000 viewers and SEE TV with 13,000 viewers.

Geo News reigned South Asian news channels in the UK with a weekly reach of 288,000 viewers (last week 232,000 viewers), followed by New Vision TV with 255,000 viewers and Dunya News with 230,000 viewers. Samaa TV was next with 202,000 viewers, followed by UK 44 with 171,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 161,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 157,000 viewers, ABP News with 120,000 viewers, News18 with 31,000 viewers and Times Now with 27,000 viewers.
