UK TV Reach: Colors dislodges &TV at No.2

On the back of the ratings success for ‘Bigg Boss 10’, Colors has witnessed a surge in its viewership and last week overtook &TV at No.2, according to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 4th December 2016.

&TV tumbled down and was overtaken by sister channel, Zing too. However, Star Plus remained the leader of the pack with a reach of 861,000 viewers (last week 768,000 viewers), followed by Colors with 571,000 viewers (last week 506,000 viewers) and Zing at No.3 with 557,000 viewers (last week 510,000 viewers). The fourth most watched channel of the week was Star Gold with 529,000 viewers (last week 416,000 viewers) and Rishtey Cineplex with 521,000 viewers (last week 473,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of &TV with 455,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 422,000 viewers, Life Ok with 396,000 viewers, Rishtey with 395,000 viewers, Prime TV with 359,000 viewers and Hum TV with 304,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Geo TV with 268,000 viewers, followed by Sikh Channel with 185,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 181,000 viewers, PTV Global with 165,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 153,000 viewers, Venus TV with 152,000 viewers, Star Utsav with 133,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 128,000 viewers and Brit Asia TV with 109,000 viewers.

ARY News led the South Asian news genre with over half-a-million weekly reach – it picked up with 518,000 viewers (last week 426,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 303,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 244,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 217,000 viewers and NDTV 24×7 with 213,000 viewers. SAMAA TV was next with 196,000 viewers, then Aaj Tak was next with 180,000 viewers, followed by ABP News with 161,000 viewers, Times Now with 60,000 viewers and News18 with 51,000 viewers.
