UK Ratings: ZEE Network rejoices after lead over rivals on Sunday

ZEE Network was rejoicing today after it claimed a surprising victory over its rivals in Sunday UK ratings.

In an e-letter sent out to subscribers (pictured), the network, which consists of ZEE TV, ZEE Cinema, ZEE Punjabi, Zing and &TV, boasted of having a collective share of 0.14%, compared to Sony Pictures Networks, Star TV Network, Viacom18 Network all delivering a share of 0.12%.

Star Plus, which is the flagship channel in the Star TV Network, usually pushes the broadcaster ahead of its rivals. However, a weakened overall performance with ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ dragged down the channel’s overall share.

Was it premature for ZEE Network to be celebrating its triumph run in Sunday’s UK ratings or is this a sign of viewers now switching over from Star TV channels?
