UK ratings: Star Plus & UMP Movies retain lead

Star Plus and UMP Movies remained the most watched South Asian channels in the UK, according to official data from BARB for week ending 14th June.

Star Plus held on to the top spot with a huge margin. It recorded a weekly reach of 1,103,000 viewers (last week 936,000 viewers), followed by UMP Movies with 760,000 viewers (last week 649,000 viewers) and Colors pushed back to third place with 689,000 viewers (last week 558,000 viewers). Rishtey slipped to fourth with 582,000 viewers (last week 600,000 viewers) and Zing in fifth with 578,000 viewers (last week 574,000 viewers).

The next tier was led by Hum TV with 504,000 viewers, &TV with 499,000 viewers, Star Gold with 449,000 viewers, SAB TV with 428,000 viewers, Life Ok with 330,000 viewers.

Geo TV delivered 231,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 230,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 215,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 187,000 viewers, DM Global with 124,000 viewers, Venus TV with 111,000 viewers, PTV Global witnessed 106,000 viewers and Prime TV slipped to 100,000 viewers.

ARY News was the most popular South Asian news channel in the UK with 447,000 viewers. Pakistani rivals could pull in around half of the channel’s weekly reach. Geo News was in second with 295,000 viewers, followed by SAMAA TV with 255,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 205,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 182,000 viewers, Dunya News with 173,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 160,000 viewers, ABP News with 157,000 viewers and News18 India with 99,000 viewers.
