UK ratings: Star Plus touches new heights
Star Plus and its newly launched Star Plus HD channel have touched new heights in the UK ratings, according to official data from BARB.
The combined figure for both channels touched a weekly reach of 1,302 for week ending Sunday 8th July – the same period when the channel showed the IIFA awards, which were broadcast in HD format for the first time.
The IIFA awards managed to life the channel’s share 1.49% on Saturday 7th July, with an audience of 325.700 during the three and a half transmission.
UMP Movies remained the second most watched Hindi entertainment channel in the UK with a revamped schedule. Its weekly reach stood at 788,000. Star Gold was in third with 558,000 and ARY News next with 487,000. Star Life Ok slipped to 440,000. Zing was down to 403,000.
Sony SAB TV had a weekly reach of 175,000 and UMP Stars could only manage 93,000 despite a heavy media campaign.
