Star Gold has started off 2016 on a high note in UK ratings by coming third behind Star Plus and UMP Movies, according to official data from BARB for week ending 10th January 2016.

Star Plus remained the most preferred Asian TV channel with a weekly reach of 1,097,000 viewers (last week 1,052,000), followed by UMP Movies with 842,000 viewers (last week 915,000) and Star Gold with 714,000 viewers (last week 658,000). Star Gold delivered one of its biggest audiences with films like ‘Kya Kenha’ registering 23,000 viewers, ‘No One Killed Jessica’ with 20,000 viewers and ‘Ishq’ with 19,000 viewers. New film ‘Hero’ starring Sooraj Pancholi, could only muster in 8,000 viewers on Saturday.

In fourth place was Colors with 604,000 viewers (last week 635,000), &TV in fifth with 542,000 viewers (last week 756,000), Zing with 525,000 viewers, Rishtey with 501,000 viewers (last week 587,000) and SAB TV with 475,000 viewers (last week 538,000).

The next tier consisted of Hum TV with 435,000 viewers, Geo TV with 345,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi and Life Ok with 300,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Prime TV with 227,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV and DM Global with 221,000 viewers, Venus TV with 207,000 viewers, PTV Global with 152,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 132,000 viewers, TV99 with 90,000 viewers and Akaal Channel with 76,000 viewers.

ARY News remained the dominant player as the most watched South Asian news channel in the UK with 440,000 viewers (last week 460,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 273,000 viewers, ABP News was in third with 248,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 242,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 219,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 186,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 164,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 163,000 viewers and News18 India remained bottom with 48,000 viewers.
