UK ratings: Sony SAB TV overtakes Zing

Sony SAB TV, the light entertainment channel from Multi Screen Media has managed to overtake Zing and Star Life Ok for the first time in the UK ratings.

Sony SAB TV has steadily been climbing up the ratings chart. It was up to a weekly reach of 445,000 during the week ending Sunday 10th March. The ratings are expected to increase further on the back of the channel’s newly revamped scheduled and inclusion of British programming and classic shows from Sony TV Asia.

Zing – which has been on a high of late slid to a weekly reach of 383,000 (last week 544,000). No doubt, the channel will return to its dizzy heights in weeks to come. Sony SAB TV also beat Star Life Ok, which attracted a weekly reach of 415,000.

The market leader remained Star Plus, which was up from 1,166,000 to 1,186,000. In second place UMP Movies with 880,000 and Rishtey in third with 697,000. In fourth was Star Gold, which was up to 715,000 (last week 631,000). Sony SAB TV, Star Life Ok and Zing followed.

Sahara One was next with 236,000 and 9XM at the bottom with 100,000.

Amongst the news channels, Al Jazeera English was the leader with 639,000, ARY News was in second with 467,000 and Aaj Tak in third with 303,000.

Sunrise TV ceased broadcasting during this period and no longer has data associated with it.
