Times Now confirms exit from UK market

India’s leading English news channel, Times Now has ceased operations in the UK, BizAsiaLive.com can confirm.

The channel, which was removed from the Sky EPG earlier this week, had been earmarked for closure for a number of weeks. BizAsiaLive.com published an Industry Whisper about the same some time ago.

Despite its success in India, Times Now has been unable to repeat the success in the UK after a dismal performance in UK ratings.

A Times Now spokesperson has confirmed to BizAsiaLive.com that it has shutdown its operations in the UK. However, the channel will continue streaming on the Times Now mobile app, along with various other third-party digital apps.
