The Guardian newspaper’s fortnightly sole Muslim column written by Noorjehan Barmania has come to an end after two years of publication.
Barmania’s column ‘This Muslim Life’ was launched in 2007 for the paper’s subsidiary, G2, it was hailed an instant success. The column was a light hearted take on women.
The final column, which was printed yesterday (Friday) ended with the following introduction by the paper, “When Noorjehan Barmania began her column on these pages, she was searching for her place in British society. Now, having acquired both citizenship and a new man, she ends with a reflection on the past few years.”
