Sushant Singh Rajput on Mukesh Chhabra’s suspension from ‘Kizie Aur Manny’

With ‘Kedarnath’ promos well on the way, Shushant Singh Rajput’s other forthcoming film with debutante Sanjana Sanghi – ‘Kizie Aur Manny’ has been under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons and is currently on hold.

Reported on Pinkvilla, earlier Singh Rajput had made headlines for his ‘over-friendly’ behaviour towards Sanghi, thereafter the director of ‘Kizie Aur Manny’, Mukesh Chhabra, has been embroiled in the #MeToo movement, accused of sexual misconduct during his time as a casting-director. Since the allegation Chhabra has been suspended from ‘Kizie Aur Manny’. At the recent promos, Singh Rajput was asked about updates as to when filming will commence, to which he replied, “We are not shooting for the film right now as it’s scheduled for later. It’s going to happen in Paris around December. I am shooting for some other film as of now. That’s the reason. I have been told that Fox Studios are doing the investigation and whatsoever the decision comes out, it would be right and they will stick to it.”

Fox Star Studios, the film’s production house had released a statement earlier on the matter, saying, “As a responsible organisation, Star India takes any allegation of sexual harassment at workplace very seriously. Hence Fox Star Studios has suspended the services of Mukesh Chhabra, director of our film, Kizzie Aur Manny, which is under production, till the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of M/s Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company (MCCC) concludes its inquiry on allegations against him.”

‘Kizie Aur Manny’ is a Hollywood remake of Josh Boone’s ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ (2014).
