Sushant Singh Rajput confirmed for ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ remake

Sushant Singh Rajput is riding high, as he has been confirmed to play lead in casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut.

Touted as Bollywood’s top notch casting director, Chhabra is all set to go behind the camera for the first time, which will be a remake of the Hollywood romantic drama, ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ (2014). Chhabra who has had a big hand in Rajput’s Bollywood career, has always been keen on casting the star.

A source close to the production house reveals to Pune Mirror, “Mukesh was the one who introduced Sushant to Abhishek Kapoor for Kai Po Che! He had always wanted to work with him and felt he would be perfect for this film. He is currently on the lookout for his leading lady. Though inspired by the Hollywood film, the script will be adapted to Indian sensibilities.”

When contacted, Chhabra indeed confirmed Rajput’s casting. He said, “Yes, I am on board for the Fault in Our Stars remake. I’m working on the script at the moment. Sushant is the leading man and we are still in the process of casting the heroine.”

Rajput was last seen in Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Raabta’ (2017), which failed to perform well at the box office.
