Sushant Singh Rajput’s father files caveat in Supreme Court against Rhea’s plea

In New Delhi today, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father filed a caveat in the Supreme Court and sought a hearing before any order was to be passed on actor Rhea Chakraborty’s plea.

In simple terms, a ‘caveat’ is a type of petition, filed to pre-empt any ex-parte order on the plea filed by the opposition, reports The Tribune.

Chakraborty moved to the Supreme Court on Wednesday seeking transfer of an FIR from Patna to Mumbai and the stay on the investigation by Bihar Police on the allegations of Singh Rajput’s father that she abetted ‘suicide’ of his son.

“Let nothing be done in the above matter without prior notice to the undersigned,” Singh Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh said in his caveat that was filed through lawyer Nitin Saluja.

Vikas Singh, who is the family lawyer of Singh Rajput, on Wednesday had said that Bollywood star Chakraborty’s plea in the Supreme Court to seek transfer of an FIR from Patna indicates that “somebody in Mumbai police was helping her”

Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai on 14th June 14.

His final film, ‘Dil Bechara’ (2020), was recently made available for all to see for free on Hotstar.
