‘Survivor’ to replace ‘MasterChef’ on Star Plus in January

The much anticipated reality TV show ‘Survivor India’ will replace ‘MasterChef India’, BizAsia.co.uk can reveal.

According to inside information, the current run of ‘MasterChef India’ will end on Sunday 1st January, to be replaced with ‘Survivor India’ Saturday 7th January 2012 in the same slot.

Despite reports, ‘Survivor India’ will launch on Star Plus and not on sister channel, Star One. Earlier industry rumours suggested that ‘Survivor India’ was being pushed back to launch on the new look Star One but this has been rejected.

The Miditech produced reality TV show is about being able to survive tough physical and psychological challenges on an island for about 47 days. Each episode votes out one participant and the winner gets the prize money. The complex social interplay between the diverse competitors, who often have to cooperate with each other, has captured the imagination of audiences worldwide.
