BizAsia has had confirmation today that Star Plus HD, which is launching in the UK on Thursday 5th July will be available as part of Sky’s HD monthly subscription.
The channel will join Sky1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living and others in the HD Pack that the broadcaster offers. The HD pack costs start at 10 per month.
Star TV has also confirmed that Star Plus HD will also have its whole output in 100 per cent HD and not upscaled. Local shows filmed in the UK have already begun using HD facilities. Star TV is already in talks with Virgin Media about carrying the service on the cable platform.
Whilst the channel will be added to the Sky platform on Thursday 5th July, Star Plus HD will officially launch at the Celebrate Bollywood event – an outdoor spectacle that is being organised by Star TV UK at Hyde Park to mark 100 years of Indian cinema.
