After our earlier report on BizAsiaLive.com , Star Plus’ original afternoon programming band, Star Plus Dopahar is being axed on Saturday 30th September.
The four shows, which include ‘Kya Kasoor Hai Amla Ka’, ‘Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee’, ‘Dhhai Kilo Prem’ and ‘Love Ka Hai Intezaar’ will broadcast their final episodes on 30th September, just six months after they were launched with much fanfare. The only show to remain, which launched a part of Star Plus Dopahar is ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’, which recently moved to the 19:00 slot after the exit of ‘Saathiya’.
Producer Sandiip Sikchand, who works on ‘Dhhai Kilo Prem’, along with Balaji Telefilms told the online portal, TelevisionPost, “We have been informed by the channel to complete the show by 30 September as the channel has decided to close the afternoon slot. We are trying to do justice to the story line by giving it a proper end.”
An actor in one of the shows also confirmed the news to BizAsiaLive.com on condition of anonymity.
Star TV is yet to comment on the developments.
