Star Network teams up with London Asian Film Festival

Star Network has confirmed it will be the official media partner of the 13th London Asian Film Festival.

The annual film festival opened last Friday (18th March) at the British Film Institute (BFI), Southbank and will close with a gala screening and Awards Dinner at BAFTA on 27th March 2011.

Leading stars of Bollywood & Independent Cinema to attend the ten day festival include actors Manisha Koirala, Sanjay Suri, Ajay Naidu, Heather Burns, Karsh Kale. Come to the only South Asian film festival in the UK and see cutting edge independent films like ‘Ajay Naidu�۪s Ashes’, ‘Onir’s I Am and Sanjay Gupta�۪s Pankh’.

The festival honours a range of exciting films from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh that have made waves on the international film festival circuit.

Highlights of this year�۪s festival include:

? Costume Design Master Class at BAFTA with Academy Award winner and Indian cinema�۪s most well regarded costume designer Bhanu Athaiya.
? Screening and talk by Anusha Rizvi, Director of Peepli Live.
? London Asian Film Festival Inaugural Nargis Dutt Lecture at the Brunei Gallery, SOAS, which marks the 100th anniversary of International Women�۪s Day.
? Hollywood Actor Heather Burns screening her film ASHES at BAFTA and attended by several Bollywood stars.
? Short film competition showcasing the remarkable work of aspiring film-makers.
