Star Guild Awards 2014 to air in February

This year’s Star Guild Awards, which were held in Mumbai last night, will be telecast on Star Plus in February, BizAsia can confirm.

The event, which was hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan, saw him embrace Shah Rukh Khan on stage. Other highlights included ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ dominate the awards, while Deepika Padukone took away the gong for Best Actress.

The Star Guild Awards also celebrated the success of Indian television with the likes of ‘Mahabharat’ and ‘Balika Vadhu’ winning big. Actresses Drashti Dhami and Ankita Lokhande also took away with Best Actresses awards at the prestigious event.

Incidentally, this will be the same weekend that the final of ‘Nach Baliye 6’ will broadcast. The channel is expected to lure in big viewership from its two big properties this weekend.
