Sooraj Barjatya says ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is “more grey” than his previous films

Sooraj Barjatya has always been associated with family dramas.�� Though his films have at times explored problems within a family unit, the director claims that ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ deals with a more grey aspect than any of his previous ventures.

In an interview to PTI, Barjatya was quoted as saying, “There is a whole royal feel to the movie.�� My films are always about values and traditions, but I am telling this story in a more contemporary way… The characters are more real.�� It is more grey.�� The society is always evolving, this is my attempt to show what is happening around me.”

Starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles, the film released for Diwali.�� Initial figures suggest that it opened to a record-breaking Rs. 40.35 Crores in India on day one.
