Sony TV yet to confirm UK telecast of ‘Wheel of Fortune India’

The highly anticipated launch of ‘Wheel of Fortune India’ is still awaiting confirmation for a UK telecast on Sony Entertainment Television.

The popular gameshow, which premieres on Indian television on Tuesday (27th January), has been delayed internationally due to rights restrictions. Hosted by Akshay Kumar and produced by Frames Production Company, the series has generated considerable buzz among viewers.

This is not the first time Sony TV UK has faced delays in airing major reality shows in line with its Indian counterpart. ‘MasterChef India’ was previously withheld from UK broadcast because of legal complications. An eleventh‑hour agreement eventually allowed the show to air a week after its Indian premiere, and UK audiences are hoping for a similar outcome with ‘Wheel of Fortune India’.

Should the show secure a UK slot, it remains unclear where it will be placed within the schedule. At present, Sony TV UK broadcasts ‘MasterChef India’, ‘Shark Tank’ and ‘Crime Patrol’ between 20:00 and 23:00, leaving limited room for additional primetime programming.
