Sony LIV launches first Bengali original series ‘Jazz City’ streaming in February
Sony LIV has announced its first Bengali original series, ‘Jazz City’, which will premiere on 6th February 2026.
The series combines elements of music, mystery, and moral dilemmas, set against the backdrop of Calcutta’s jazz culture.
‘Jazz City’ follows the journey of a hustler with a hidden past who becomes entangled in a world of power and deception. The narrative explores themes of trust, responsibility, and choices, with music playing a central role in shaping the atmosphere and emotional depth of the story.

The series is created, directed, and written by Soumik Sen, and produced by Studio 9 and StudioNext. It features an ensemble cast including Arifin Shuvoo, Sauraseni Maitra, Shantanu Ghatak, Aniruddha Gupta, Sayandeep Sen, Shreya Bhattacharya, Shataf Figar, Alexandra Taylor, and Amit Saha. The soundtrack, driven by jazz, is designed to enhance the narrative and mood.
According to the creators, the show aims to present music as an integral part of the storyline rather than a backdrop, reflecting the cultural and emotional complexity of the setting.
