Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor is currently busy, extensively promoting her first Rajshri film, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. While she is dabbling in different genres as an actor, with this Rajshri production, and then her next, ‘Neerja’, a biopic, shealso has directing on her mind. Kapoor reveals that she would like to direct the current generation of actors, including Deepika Padukone one day.

Kapoor spoke to DNA India about her next career leap. Sherevealed,” I will be directing onevery soon, maybe in acouple of years. I have written scripts, I have ideas/concepts…Itry to understand what it is about life that I want to showcaseand what it is that Iwould like to explore within myself as a person and as an artiste, what I would like to see visually and I put that down. Lets see whatever comes of it. My training has been in direction.”

“I was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s assistantdirector for three years. Ifind the genres of drama and romance very attractive. I love comedy as well. But I would love to direct women-centric subjects, too. I don’t think I’m talented enough to direct myself, butmaybe someday I would like to. Right now, several actresses inspireme to direct- Swara Bhaskar, Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone, too. They are all so good!” concluded Kapoor.

Kapooris seen romancing Salman Khan again in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ after her 2007 debut with him in ‘Saawariya’.

‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ releases on 12th November.
