Sonam Kapoor on her “fashionista image”

With the recently released ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ entering the 200 Crore Club, actress Sonam Kapoor has entered the big league. It has questionably been a struggle for her as an actress since her debut in 2007 but Kapoor does not believe that her fashionista image overshadowed her as an actress.

When asked, in an interview with Hindustan Times, if she believes her fashionista image went against her as an actress, Kapoor said, “No, it was good. What else is there to talk about me? I have my movies and fashion. There are no controversies, affairs or catfights. People have to talk about something. I am happy. Please talk about my clothes and films. I am very happy with my fashionista image.”

Kapoor, with her sister Rhea’s support, has arguably been the face of developing fashion in India. Though she may not have been spoken about as much for her performances, she has constantly been praised for her daring and unique fashion choices and has won the label of being B Town’s first ‘fashionista’.

On the acting front, she is now looking forward to Atul Kasbekar’s debut production, which is a biopic on the life of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot.
