Sonam Kapoor Ahuja: “I’m a huge advocate for LGBTQI”

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has said that she is a huge advocate for Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) rights and hopes for a day where they will no longer be labels.

Reported on Mid-day, the ‘Veere Di Wedding’ (2018) actress and her two siblings who recently appeared on Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee With Karan’, she said she will always continue the fight for equality. “I’m a huge advocate for LGBTQI. For me, it is one of the most important things that I fight for and I hope for when there is a country and a world without labels.” Further adding, “I’m very happy and proud that India has taken a step forward and people can live and love the way they want to love and that’s very important to me. And I think it should be very important to everybody in this world.”

This week saw the release of the trailer for Kapoor Ahuja’s next ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’, which is slated to release in February 2019. The film also stars her father Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Raj Kummar Rao.
