SLB on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s exit from ‘Ram-Leela’

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ (2013) was a film that was initially meant to star Kareena Kapoor Khan. The actress reportedly walked out of the film and Bhansali has spoken about her exit for the first time.

According to Box Office Capsule, the producer-director said, “The set was made already, and it was shocking: her exit 10 days before shooting”.

Bhansali also went on to talk about approaching Deepika Padukone for the role, “So, I went to Deepika. She was unwell and she had fever, and she was beautiful. The neck was so long and those watery gorgeous eyes! I thought, what is this girl all about”.

Padukone starred opposite Ranveer Singh and it was essentially the beginning of their acquaintance. They both went on to star in the award-winning ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015).
