She gave brilliant performances in films like ‘Mere Naam Joker’ (1970), ‘Kabhi Kabhi’ (1976), and ‘Karz’ (1980), and she’s one of Indian TV’s most celebrated hosts with her hit talk show ‘India’s Most Desirable’ (2011). However, Simi Garewal has expressed that she would love to get back into films again, though she’s unsure about what kind of roles she would be offered.
“I am a difficult person to cast. I don۪t know what roles filmmakers will be able to offer me. I would love to act in films again_ acting is my first love. I have been getting offers but nothing tempting or attractive to captivate me,” Indian Expressreported the veteran actress explaining.
Embracing how much has changed within the industry since her time in films back in the 1980’s, Garewal went onto say, “There are tremendous changes that have come in the film industry like technology wise, story telling, diverse films are made today, our films match international standards, there are roles and subjects for everyone, change in background score and music. I am enjoying watching films.”
It’s safe to say that Garewal would be loved on the big screen just as much, if not more than she is on the small screen. Her show ‘India’s Most Desirable’ came after her series of ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’ where she invited celebrities, encouraging intimate conversation about their work and personal life.
