Shraddha Kapoor replaced by Amrit Maghera in ‘Mad About Dance’

Actor-director Saahil Prem who was last seen in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Ragini MMS 2’ (2014) is currently busy with his upcoming project as reports suggest that he will be directing and acting in the Indian dance film ‘Mad About Dance’. Earlier there were reports that Shraddha Kapoor will play the female lead in the film, however she has been replaced by the London based model turned actress Amrit Maghera.

Talking on the same, a source close to the development told Bollywood Life, “The film is about international dance forms and for that, the makers needed a heroine who would be comfortable with those dance forms. Shraddha was the first choice for the role, but during the auditions, it became obvious that she couldn’t cope with the challenging dance steps and was rejected. Following this, the makers spoke to Isha Sharvani, but her dance style is quite different from what was required for the film.”

The makers of the film then decided to take auditions once again for the female lead and then roped in Maghera after choreographer-director Farah Khan praised her work. Maghera has worked with Khan previously. A source close to the development added, “Farah was quite impressed with Amrit’s natural grace as a dancer and the fact that she was trained in the international style of dance and suggested that the makers approach her for the role.”

Praising Maghera, Prem said, “We narrowed down on Amrit as she is not only a skilled dancer, but also a good actor. Not only this, she also fits the character that of an Indian girl who rose in the United Kingdom.”
